Siblings Elsa, Mathieu, and Antoine Mothay — the grandchildren of the founding father of French ready-to-wear model Saint James — launched Polène out of Paris in 2016 with ambitions to “seize the essence of a real leather-based items home,” Antoine explains, “which we recognized as creativity.” (Antoine is now the CEO and the only member of the family nonetheless concerned within the model, and is instantly liable for operations, finance, artistic path, and manufacturing.) The passed-down sartorial know-how is obvious: Polène started with the Numéro Un, and now has 13 purse types (or “collections,” because it payments them), priced between $460 to $690 — luxurious sans the standing premium — in addition to three completely different jewellery strains.
